Office Of The District Attorney

VICTIM ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The District Attorney’s Office is dedicated to serving the community. Our office staff includes a Victim Assistance Coordinator who assists the victims of violent crimes within the district. Certain resources are available through the Crime Victim Compensation Program. The Program assists in reducing the financial burden on victims of violent crime and/or their families by reimbursing eligible person for their crime related expenses not covered by another source such as insurance or disability/death benefits. The Program operates on revenue derived from two (2) sources: fees and fines imposed on criminal defendants and federal grants. A program application must be submitted, may be obtained from the Crime Victim Compensation Division of the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office or through local victim service providers. For more information, you may contact our office, the Office of the Attorney General or visit the Attorney General’s website at www.ago.state.ms.us.
